Greetings everyone,
I am delighted to be back after an extended break.
I have been fortunate to engage in some travel over the past two months, which is why I took a short break from updating my blogsite. It's great to be back in this space.
Speaking of my summer holiday, I can wholeheartedly describe it as fantastic! I had the opportunity to explore some truly incredible destinations, all within Turkey. Fethiye captured my heart with its beauty. The residents of that area are undoubtedly blessed. As for Kash, it offered a fabulous experience, and Antalya, naturally, I highly recommend visiting at your earliest convenience. I'm already looking forward to the possibility of revisiting these places soon.
Today, I'm eager to share something that has occupied my thoughts for quite some time. As you might be aware, I have been residing in London for an extended period, affording me the opportunity to make insightful observations as a researcher in my daily life. It's evident that numerous countries are grappling with challenges related to their populations. This issue has been on the rise, with each passing day and every year, scientists identify a myriad of difficulties, such as Autistic Spectrum Disorders and Down Syndrome, affecting millions of children worldwide. In many cases, this situation is more pronounced in Eastern societies. According to prevailing beliefs, these conditions are deemed fated, a result of divine will, and nothing can impede this seemingly unfortunate destiny. In contrast, my experiences in the UK have led me to note a comparatively smaller proportion of children facing these challenging circumstances. I make this observation as an impartial observer who visits schools, utilizes public transportation, and frequents crowded places, including cafes, markets and more.
This raises the question: "Why is there a significantly lower prevalence of children with disability here?"
Could it be attributed to easy access to protein-rich diets?
Could it be related to reduced instances of intermarriage between close relatives?
Could advanced healthcare play a role in this phenomenon?
Could the practice of preconception controls contribute to this trend?
OR
Could it be attributed to divine will?
The choice is yours.
